European Union Documentation Center
EUROPEAN DOCUMENTATION CENTER
Since 1992, the Library has been collecting and providing documents related to the European Union, assigned to European Studies. It participates in EU information providing as a European Reference Center until 2000, and as a European Documentation Center since 2000.
The collection consists of two parts, both parts can be found in the Tourism Library.
One part of the collection consists of publications of the European Union, and today it contains more than 3.000 documents, mainly in English, to a lesser extent in Hungarian or other official EU languages. The advantage of this part of the collection lies in its topicality, the brochure-like documents and periodicals provide information on new developments and are also very diverse in terms of their subject matter: for example, the activities of the EU institutions, policies, reports of rotating Presidencies, committee reports, economic and financial reports, statistical data, sustainable development, tourism, environmental protection, free access to employment, social policy and education.
The other part of the collection contains more comprehensive, summary studies in Hungarian, English, German, Spanish and French, which discuss the situation and significance of Europe and the European Union in historical, economic, artistic and philosophical perspectives.
The collection of the EDC can be searched in the Faculty Library's catalog.
